With baby boomers looking for less space and more convenience as they readied for retirement, the demand for condominiums was rising. In Cincinnati’s high-end Hyde Park community, a town known for its traditional, sprawling homes, that meant a desire to downsize to an upscale residence still large enough for their furniture and lifestyle.
After seeing the Hyde Park Country Club’s breathtaking course views, a local developer purchased the land on the sixth-hole fairway and began a study to determine the optimal use for the site. Seeing the lack of options for the community’s retirees to downsize locally, the developer found his market.
After seeking the services of our team, we too saw the opportunity to create something unlike anything else in the historic Hyde Park area. A fusion of luxury and urban-style loft living, the six-story condominium features a facade made up of 80% expansive glass to provide uninterrupted views of the adjacent golf course. Expansive glass framed by stucco, exposed concrete and metal panels gives the sleek, geometric exterior a one-of-a-kind look.
Once inside the transparent building, glass remains abundant, from the glass-enclosed stairway and elevator to operable glass windows and doors that open up the interior of the living units to the golf course and wooded views. 11-foot tall concrete ceilings and exposed spiral ductwork reinforce the loft-style design, while 30-foot long balconies with French doors and bathrooms featuring Italian marble Jacuzzis and frameless glass shower surrounds give residents the luxury they desire.
